Meet Monroe Area’s Hogwild Hardegree IV

Monroe Area SR lineman Jay Hardegree IV has been playing better each week this season and really hitting his stride as a blocker. Standing at about 6’1″ and 260 lbs., Hardgree is quick coming out of his stance, and on the snap, he is relentless getting after the defender.

The 2026 OL prospect has been impressive, and last week against East Hall, the senior was in his bag blocking guys off the line demonstratively. The SR was voted the OL of the Week on the site for his efforts, and the weekly accolade really just encapsulates the great season so far.

“My senior year is going great, especially because I’m winning with my team,” Haregree continued, “My goals are to win with my team and go as far as we can take it and make first team All-Region, All-County, and hopefully state.”

The senior’s aggressive blocking, combined with a never-ending leg drive, can send a defender flying backwards 5-10-15 yards downfield. He is an enforcer, looking to control his opponent and dominate the game.

“My mindset is being ruthless, and that’s making sure I win at all costs and refusing defeat. I will battle to the very end,” he said.

As of now, Hardegree IV does not hold any college offers, nor does he have any visits planned. The senior still has time to attract college interest, and with his team now 5-1 on the year, a strong contender in 3A this season, you can definitely see colleges growing interest as they review the roster.

The East Hall game was his best game blocking so far this season. He was really getting after guys, and that spark could ignite into a fire for this week’s big rivalry matchup against Jefferson.

That game will surely attract the attention of everyone in the area, so be sure to check out his RG profile HERE and follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to see the latest results, highlights, and recruiting news for Hardegree IV and players across the state of Georgia.
