Thomasville’s Pittman Balling Out

After a meniscus tear in 2024, Thomasville senior Nigel Pittman is hyper-focused on this season. He’s focused on improving, taking his game to another level, and making highlight plays.

Thematically, all three components have been integral to his senior year, but last Friday against Bacon County, it was his highlight-producing playmaking that went on full display. Pittman caught a routine pass down the sideline at the 40-yard line and managed to break down three defenders, spinning out of a tackle, then cutting back against the grain to jaunt into the endzone.

The play secured a spot in the weekly top 10 plays posted each Sunday night, and 24 hours later, Pittman was voted the #3 play of the week. For Pittman, the season has been off to a great start with 13 receptions for 295 yards and 5 touchdowns.

His team is 4-1 on the year, and is currently ranked the #3 team in the Class A DI rankings.

“My senior year is going great so far, and my goal for the rest of the season is to win region,” Pittman said.

As mentioned at the start of the article, Pittman is making a comeback from a meniscus injury that sidelined him during the 2024 season. You wouldn’t know it from his early-season film. The SR is a smooth operator with the football in his hands, scoring 5 touchdowns on just 13 receptions and even returning a punt for another score. Pittman does a great job of finding the endzone.

On the recruiting front, Point University offered earlier this month, and the SR has no planned visits at the moment. Still, the offers indicate the surging interest as more colleges become familiar with his ability to impact an offense.

When asked about what he can bring to the table that separates him from others, Pittman replied, “I am a humble and hardworking student athlete, I always do the small things right.”

Pittman has been named All-Region twice, and in last week’s blowout win against Bacon County, he was named Thomasville’s Offensive Player of the Week. At 6′ and 185 lbs, the senior receiver has the athletic upside and frame to attract high-level interest from several programs soon, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on Pittman and athletes across the state of Georgia.
