Jordan Do
SR Archer
Quarterback
The Archer SR QB was impressive completing 16-of-26 passes for 314 yards and 3 touchdowns while also rushing for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns. The beat Eastside 44-20, giving the #10 team in 4A their 2nd loss of the season. Do was in a groove, hitting his receivers in stride and making the defense pay in the red zone with pinpoint accuracy.
KJ Green
JR Stephenson
Defensive Lineman
Green played his best game of the season totaling five tackles for losses and four sacks, and forced a fumble in Stephenson’s 27-17 win over 5A’s Decatur. Green racks up the most sacks of Week 4, and was absolutely dominant getting into the backfield creating negative plays. We will add film when it becomes available.
Traviian Miller
SOPH Clinch Co.
Quarterback
Wild games were the theme in Week 4, and sophomore passer Traviian Miller had one. The Clinch passer completed 10 of 18 for 262 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries in a 48-43 win over Berrien. The dynamic Miller adds a variable to the Clinch offense that should be tough to stop during the 2nd half of the season.
Darnell Kelly
SR Hughes
Quarterback
Kelly was impressive in Hughes’ mega-matchup against Douglas County, throwing for 338 passing yards, 32 rushing yards, and 4 total touchdowns. They won the game 44-31 and solidified themselves as a top 5 team in the GHSA regardless of classification. The Colorado State commit was our Preseason Player of the Year in 5A.
Thomas Winston
SR Miller Grove
Quarterback
Miller Grove is now 4-0 on the year after beating 6A’s Heritage-Conyers 28-24. You don’t often see a 2A program when against the highest classification, but SR QB Thomas Winston was on a roll completing 18-22 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Winston is among the leading passers in 2A and a strong candidate to be All-State.
Chad Fairchild
SR Lovejoy
Linebacker
Lovejoy’s Chad Fairchild was all over the field with 15 tackles and 3 tackles for a loss in a huge 35-31 win over East Coweta. Lovejoy is undefeated on the season after beating the 6A program. The senior linebacker is an All-State candidate and plans to sign with ECU.
Jordan Fox
SR Crisp County
Linebacker
Crisp County senior Jordan Fox had 10 tackles and 3 interceptions in a 30-24 loss to Peach County. Despite the tough loss, the SR did a great job of reading the QB’s eyes and was the interception leader in the state for Week 4. Fox was a Preseason All-State selection in 3A. No film from the game just yet, but we will update soon.
Devonis Lee
SR Early County
Athlete
Early County SR was all over the field in their 33-6 win over Schley County. Lee had 120 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns, and on defense had 10 tackles with an interception too. Lee is a tough 5’10”, 190 lbs. two-way athlete who is having himself a great senior season so far.
Da’Wahyne Chatman
SR Bradwell Int
Wide Receiver
The Bradwell Institute SR was impressive catching 239 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 35-28 win over Glynn Academy, helping his team to their first win over their rival since 2010. The 5’5″ 145 lbs. wide receiver has great acceleration and absolutely burned the Glynn defense for several explosive plays, including a fake punt screen pass where he turned the corner and was gone 50 yards downfield. No film yet, and Twitter won’t even let me attach a few highlights posted, so we will update soon.
Brian McQueen
SR Portal
Athlete
The Portal senior has been a big play each week of the season, and Week 4 was no exception. McQueen had 170 return yards, including 94 94-yard KO return for TD, 20 rush yards, 63 receiving yards with another touchdown, and 5 solo tackles on defense. The Portal staff feels like the SR athlete is very much under the radar for now.
