Scroggins has been a promising edge defender terrorizing offensive tackles the last few years. Scroggins is a tenacious defender with good length, and that combo can make for a potent pass-rusher at the next level. His pursuit after the football is impressive, and what you look for in FBS caliber defenders. He needs to improve timing the snap and getting out of his stance, but once he is out, you can see his long frame eat up space between him and the ball carrier. He shows good lateral quickness, which is beneficial against the read-option on the outside. Scroggins needs to continue to improve his pad level, especially when getting off blocks. His length helps a lot with him naturally getting off blocks, but he needs to clean up his fundamentals. Scroggins is a P4 caliber athlete at the end of the day, his upside with his length, agility, and motor should have college coaches excited because so much of what he is missing can be taught. At around 230 lbs., Scroggins could grow into his frame over the next few years and potentially just play full-time with his hand on the ground. Right now, his versatile skill set provides a lot of options for most DCs.
