Phillips was one of the most dominant two-way players in all of 4-A this year. He shows excellent fluidity when moving up field, and his immense strength and size was just too much to handle. Phillips has very well taken the biggest jump of any player in his class. He has become a good bit stronger in the hips and shows overall better technique while engaged. Body control is a lot better too. Phillips has upside to play on either side of the ball honestly, I like his potential at center, but run-heavy teams might like his upside at offensive guard as well. The senior has been slept on heavily, and definitely deserves some heavy looks down the stretch here. Cannot teach the passion he plays with either, Phillips’ motor is all gas, no breaks, and what else can you ask for a 6’4″ +300 lb.s linemen. Region DPOTY and AJC First Team All-State.
