Jase Orndorff takes the All-State quarterback spot after leading his high school to its very first state championship. The two-year starter took his game to another level with 3337 yards passing and 30 touchdowns through the air. His squad was down 21-7 in the state title game, and Orndorff brought them back with three consecutive touchdown passes for a score — the last coming in overtime. All year long he made one clutch throw after another to lead his squad to victory.

Zion Custis was the driving force for Lovejoy’s offense this year. The workhorse running back had 1943 yards on the ground and averaged an astounding 10.5 yards per carry. His 176.6 yards per game and 27 rushing touchdowns led the entire classification. Custis has a lot of Devonta Freeman to his game, and he gets big chunks of yardage. Kevin Harris came bursting onto the scene this year with 1691 yards. The bruising running back carried the ball 285 times on the year and did not fumble it once. The 2019 Bradwell Institute running back is a name to watch for this offseason. Uriah West averaged 9.2 yards per carry and 149.6 yards per game. The Douglas Co. senior will pop some pads when he carries the football. He finished the season with 1496 yards, which was near the top in Class 6-A.

Steven Peterson from Harrison was at the top of the classification again with 1157 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 20.3 yards per catch and was the favorite target for one of the top quarterbacks in the entire country. Jordan “MeGa” Young sat at the top of Class 6-A receiving with 1562 yards on just 66 receptions and 17 touchdowns. He averaged a ridiculous 130 yards receiving per game. Blane Mason from Centennial also had a special season catching the ball. The senior ended up with 1392 yards receiving on 69 receptions and 15 touchdowns. Mason is one of the most improved players in Georgia over the last year. Lee County speed demon Ty Terrell was a blur on the field and, he amassed 1280 yards on a classification-leading 78 receptions. His ability as a route-runner really shined this season. Johns Creek senior Zach Williams had 837 yards receiving and 46 receptions his senior year. The Arizona tight end commit is a big-play threat and took one reception 67 yards for a score.

Jalil Irvin for Stephenson has been a road-grading monster for years now. He will taking his services next fall to Auburn, where he is a perfect fit for their offensive scheme. Junior Uzebu is a powerful left tackle for Alpharetta who helped his squad reach the quarterfinals. The senior will be playing for West Virginia next fall. Houston County senior Trey Hill has been a cog in the middle of his team for years now. He is an absolute brick wall as a blocker and literally cannot be moved back. Sequoyah’s Noah Sherburn had his team off to one of its best records in school history, and he was a central figure to its offensive success. The senior started all four years of high school and was an absolute leader for his squad. Griffin McDowell was the cornerstone lineman in Lee County’s run to the state title. The class of 2018 offensive lineman has a massive motor and committed to play college ball at Mississippi State. Brunswick powerhouse linemen Warren McClendon takes the final offensive line spot. The junior is extremely powerful at the point of attack and has the athletic ability to get upfield quickly.

Cory Munson from Northside-WR finished his junior year making 17 of 23 field goals. He blasted off the best kick of the year against Lee County for 59 yards to send the game into overtime. He is part of an elite class of 2019 kickers in Georgia. Jameon Gaskin was the heart and soul of Coffee’s run to the state championship game. This year he played running back for the first time in years and totaled 1283 yards on the ground and 20 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 92 tackles. There was not a two-way player in Class 6-A who meant more to his team.

Douglas County junior Mataio Soli has been blowing up on the recruiting trail and rightfully so. The 2019 pass-rusher finished 2nd in Class 6-A with 18 sacks on the year. Nick Markus from Alpharetta had 86 tackles and 14 sacks his senior year. He is very versatile playing across the line of scrimmage, and his motor goes 100 mph until the whistle is blown. Derick Newton has been a nightmare for opposing offensive teams to scheme around. The senior lineman finished off his season with 91 solo tackles, 33 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. Tucker’s Antonio Showers was voted region player of the year after his 16 sacks and 7 forced fumbles. Over half of Showers’ 52 tackles were for a loss. Sack artist Logan Cash out of Winder-Barrow led the entire state of Georgia with 23.5 sacks, which ended being right at 2.1 sacks per game. The 2019 recruit will be a coveted prospect this offseason and a name every college coach should be familiar with.

Braelen Oliver had himself an epic senior year with 164 tackles (99 solo), 14 tackles for a loss and 5 sacks. The Douglas County senior earned Region Player of the Year for his efforts. Antonio Grier was a ball magnet this year with multiple defensive scores. The Mays senior was voted Region Defensive Player of the Year and will be headed to South Florida at the next level. Greggory Rodgers II from Grovetown took his high school to new heights this year and was a force on the defensive side of the ball. He was one tackle behind Oliver during the regular season for the classification with 132 tackles. Hunter Hall has been the unquestioned leader at Glynn Academy the last few years, and this year led them all the way to the state semifinals. The senior won region defensive player of the year this season and capped off his high school career with over 400 tackles. Harrison senior Ricky Williams had 167 tackles on the season with 8 sacks and 100 solo tackles. He played the best game of his high school career in the quarterfinals against Glynn Academy when he totaled 20 tackles. Williams uses his elite speed to make plays all over the field, and he is one of the top uncommitted linebackers left in Georgia.

Dacula cornerback Jalen Perry was a lockdown specialist this year, breaking up 14 passes and snagging 3 interceptions. He also had a major impact on the offensive side of the ball, and his overall body of work earned him region player of the year. Alpharetta senior Jaycee Horn was once again dominant making plays all over the field for his squad. He ended up with 5 interceptions on the year and 12 PBUs. Jarquavious Jefferson from Coffee was once again an interception leader in Class 6-A. The speedy Coffee cornerback ended up with 5 on the year. Otis Reese is a headhunting defensive back for Lee County who roams the field looking for his next victim. The senior was voted his region’s player of the year and helped his squad to its first state title. Antonio Fletcher had 7 interceptions on the year and was one of the biggest hitters in the state of Georgia at his safety spot. The MLK senior is committed to play football at Arkansas State next year. Aaron Casey had 120 tackles this season (10.9 tackles per game). He has elite acceleration flowing to the football, which earned him 94 solos on the year.

Diego Huerta is one of the best young punters in the state of Georgia. The young Douglas County specialist averaged 41.6 yards per punt and had a long of 65 yards on the season. Return specialist was a tight competition for 6-A, but Corey Watkins from Evans gets the nod. He returned one kick 99 yards for a score and took a punt back 75 yards as well. His 600 yards in total return yardage was near the tops in the classification and so were his 2100 all-purpose yards. The Evans senior will be playing college ball at Furman.

#47 has proven himself to be a young male of Godly.principles even in the game of football which is truly one of physical hitting as well as agressive play. It is wonderful to see him leave it on the field when he steps into the classrokm and the church house…

  2. This is a complete JOKE!! There is NO way those 5 linebackers listed are better than Valdosta’s Zakoby McClain!! He has the stats and film to prove it. Kid is one of the BEST I have watched in 40 years!,

Can you also mention the “Second Team” which in each region you all failed to mention. Second Team is much more important then the Honorable Mention……

        1. There is no 2nd team on Recruit Georgia.

I agree completely. Valdosta’s offense was horrible this year and McLain was on the field 2/3 of the game. He was all over the field and made plays all game. He played well enough for Valdosta to win 8 or 9 games if they would have had any offense at all. Ask Lee County (state champions) how good he was, he handed them their only loss of the year.
